CNC Turning
Turning is the machining operation that produces cylindrical parts. In its basic form, it can be defined as the machining of an external surface, with the workpiece rotating, with a single-point cutting tool, and with the cutting tool feeding parallel to the axis of the workpiece and at a distance that will remove the outer surface of the work.
Live cross drilling & milling tools sequentially engage to produce complex shapes and forms automatically.
Datum Engineering GB Limited have a variety of CNC (computer numerical controlled) lathes, to include platten type lathes, Swiss type sliding head lathes, with fixed tools, live tools, front and back working tools to allow for precision rapid production of mill turn / turned parts. Handling capabilities of round and hexagonal bar from 10mm diameter to 50mm diameter and in a variety of material to include aluminium, steel, tool steels, uddeholm tool steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, phosphor bronze, titanium, elkonite and specialised alloys as well as plastics such as nylon, peek plastics and tuffnol. Applications include components for automotive and aerospace industries and precision general engineering.
A selection of our CNC Turning lathes are as follows:
